Alte Post - Waldshut-Tiengen

The ambiance is very good, the food, if you are selective, is more than passable, it is quite good. The menu is somewhat limited as to the potential for more Italian dishes. They have a good lasagna, good beef dishes, heavy on the bolognese sauce....Unfortunately, the dependence on pasta to accompany all of the dishes seems to overwhelm the congruency of the compositions. The choice of vegetable accompaniments are better, and the wine selections are fairly priced and tasty

On a hot day, we wanted to sit in the shade and hence chose this restaurant with tables on Kaiserstrasse in the shadow. Good! The service was ok, but the food not. I had an insalata mista grande! Which turned out to be a small...portion of mixed salad. No bread. My husband had a special salad with fish for Euro. Same kind of salad, with a few bites of fish. Absolutely overpriced

As an Australian I was pretty horrified to see kangaroo on the menu. Had there been other options I would not have eaten here on principal but it was the Easter weekend and it was hard to find anywhere to eat. I object to kangaroo...meat as they are shot in the wild with little consideration for animal welfare, particularly for the joeys babies that have their skulls smashed in or are left to starve. It is unsanitary meat due to natural abundance of parasites and also being exposed to the elements hanging from the back of a truck. Kangaroo shooting is upsetting the natural mob dynamics of these sensitive, sociable animals and is unlikely to be sustainable. It is also highly offensive to indigenous Australians for whom kangaroo are totem. Kangaroo meat has been banned in some countriesregions for these reasons. I strongly urge Alte Post to remove these items from their menu

This ideally located place in the midst of the shopping are of Waldshut offers a wide range of dishes. Focus is on Italian food incl. Pizza. service is nice and helpful and the food as such o.k. to good and reasonable price tag. If your...expectations are not skyhigh, then is for sure worth a visit in summer, it offers outdoor seating
