Jollof was instant rice, not even the correct type. Seasoning was not authentic or even good. They put frozen mixed vegetables on top, like the kind served in public schools. Chicken was under-seasoned as well. Only a small amount of peanut soup was given, about half the container. The second order was supposed to be Nigerian stew and white rice. Not even enough sauce to call stew. I wanted fish, but they were out. Only four small pieces of beef were given.I’ve grown up with Ghanaian and Nigerian food and this is disgraceful and disappointing.Save your money and go to Accra and get better chicken and jollof for $5. Not worth the $27.Would not recommend.
Love this place … they are very pleasant. I’ve tried other places and still my favorite. I always get the same thing but they never disappoint. John is always smiling and customer service is always good.
The jollof rice combo with chicken was okay. The goat meat peices were really small and there were bone pieces with no meat on them in the Okro and stew. Overall, the serving sizes are too small for almost $40 bucks. The cashier was polite. I won't be returning.
This place is crazy!! I came for the 2nd time....just because the wings are great but I will NEVER return!! 1st of all....after spending 13.41 for wings and the dry jollof rice....that they spread around on the platter....to make it look like it was more food (than a little bit), I was not afforded the opportunity to get utensils I was told that it was too late in the day and that they didn 't have anymore. The person behind the counter actually made me feel like I was bothering him because I came in 45 minutes prior to closing. I wanted cabbage I was advised that they will not have cabbage at least for the next month. He did, however, offer spinach as a replacement. I asked if I could sample it and was told we don 't do that here. While I 'm exploring recipes from different cultures, never again will I step foot into this restaurant. As I look at the reviews NOW and see the responses from the CHOBAS, it makes me wonder why are all of the responses rude? How bout CHOBAS step up their game and respond in a way that they can accept criticism? Stop being defensive!! These reviews are from your customers....who keep you in business. You lost one here!!
The staff are super sweet and very pleasant, however, I’m Not sure why they are even open. They NEVER have a full menu, meaning they’re guantanteed to not have at least 3 items on the menu. I’ve been to this restaurant on several occasions wanting a particular dish (seperate dishes), and they did not have them. Something as simple as plaintains should always be available, especially if it’s featured on the menu. Unfortunately I will not be recycling my dollar at this establishment .There has NEVER been a sign stating items were not available (go see for yourself) If they cannot rely on their current produce provider, I suggest they find a new one. ORGANIC plantains are not hard to obtain.
