Lazy Trout - Waitomo

Although the hotel may seem a bit rusty for some , I liked the way it is : full of traces of history and it takes you right back in time. The food was very delicious and prices were really reasonable . We sat outside and enjoyed the quiet garden view and evening breezes . The staff were very friendly and helpful . This is a hidden sanctuary away from the touristy retaurants and newly built hotels .

Good food at reasonable prices. Had dinner and breakfast here while staying at the Waitomo Caves Hotel. The restaurant and hotel could both use a renovation but the food and service were very good.

The food is very presentable for what you expect. If you are hungry you're going to want to eat here before you head out. You can even come here for dinner and the service is really quick. There is ample parking and the restrooms are next door. They offer a buffet breakfast as well as a menu. The staffing is the lady at the front desk who serves you in the restaurant, so basically it is like a family run place and quaint.
