A-bay's Island Grill - WAIKOLOA

If you're hoping to have dinner after 3 PM or 5 PM, your options are pretty limited. Our resort staff suggested A-Bay's Island Grill, and we decided to give it a try. We started with the Lechon Crispy Pork Belly appetizer, which was delicious, though I wished they offered the All Purpose sauce for dipping. The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly to our liking, flavorful, and quite satisfying. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, especially with the live entertainment.

I’d like to begin by praising the excellent customer service. My visit was late at night, and the outdoor lights created a nice atmosphere, plus there were plenty of TVs to watch. I really enjoyed my two Lava Flow cocktails from the bar. I also ordered the salt and pepper wings and the pork chops; both dishes had the same breading and were lacking in seasoning. I tried the catch of the day sandwich with fries, but that too could have used a bit more flavor. Overall, while the food was just average, I really appreciated that they stayed open late.

We had a fantastic experience at A Bay's in Waikoloa! We enjoyed it so much that we went there twice during our 10-day stay on the Big Island. The fish tacos were outstanding, and the homemade corn tortillas were simply incredible! The atmosphere and service were excellent as well. The kids also loved the mac and cheese and fries. We would definitely return!
