The Oakroom Kitchen and Bar

My partners meal she gave 5/5 however mine was 1/5 so have averaged score to 3/5. Requested mixed grill well done (cooked through) but every item was crucified except the pork belly which was underdone and chewy. Persevered with meal but complained to wait staff who apologised and offered a complimentary desert. Have dined here before but disappointed with the attitude this time. Booked by phone 2 days earlier yet was messaged to call back and reconfirm on the day and only 2 hrs max at the table yet restaurant only half full. Wait staff were friendly and efficient, shame the kitchen can't get the most basic dish on the menu right.

We were sat at the side of the bar. It was a cold night & we got drafts from the hotel door & bar door opening, it was so cold.The setting is great & we expected the food to be the same.My wife had steak & it was nice but not haute cuisine.I had the mixed grill & felt sick at the end of it due to the high levels of fat in the meal.They charge fine dining prices but offer better than average pub food. Maybe if we had tried different thinks off the menu then the experience would have been better.Such as shame.

Loved our dinner at the oak room. We can't wait to come back. Desserts are a must. Very yummy. ????????????????

A wonderful range of cocktails and quality wines along with a tasty variety of bar food to enjoy on the deck...even in winter with cost fires and individual blanket for extra comfort!

Nice space, good service and breakfast was typical city cafe style with all the usual cooked things. Could have had a few more light options (fruit and pancakes?) but maybe is a winter menu? Coffee was nice also.
