Not the best experience. Even worse post dinner online encounter with the owner/manager, who now deleted the exchange on Facebook. That 's just unprofessional and disgusting. Own a business? Get ready for negative feedback and take them for what they are FEEDBACK. Learn from them, grow. Period. Disgusting. Must note, however, that although the food was not that inventive, the dishes we were served were great tasting. Chef is definitely talented, which is no less than what I would expect from someone who headed a Boston restaurant raved by Zagat. Also must note, I previously stated on the now deleted exchange on Facebook that I dined on Saturday. Nope, restaurant was closed (private event, I think . I was there Sunday. Also, I grew up in Princeton and I am always scouting for the best of the best in the area. I know good food. I know good service. I 've had plenty of pleasant encounters with chefs, managers, owners. Just thought I 'd put that out there. In response to the response of the business owner, I am not using this platform for nasty words. I ORIGINALLY rated your business on Facebook with ONE STAR DUE TO THE SERVICE, not as a post dining encounter. YOUR SERVICE DIDN 'T MEET MY STANDARDS. I HAD NO INTENTIONS OF COMING BACK, THEREFORE WAS NOT INTERESTED IN YOU FIXING IT. Thankfully, I save all of my reviews. Here is what I originally wrote, which you deleted: [Quote] I originally gave a one star rating, but I thought it would be fair, I added one more. One star for the ambiance. Really, really nice, warm and cozy. Kudos to the interior decorator! Another star for the good tasting food. Hats off to the chef! Although, I must add, the entire menu is nothing extraordinary. There are better options for Italian restaurants in the Princeton metro area that have creative menus, which, I guarantee, will be worth the drive. Will I be coming back? Possibly not. Overall, unsatisfactory experience. Also, check out how they respond to reviews not to their liking here on Facebook, Yelp and TripAdvisor. Dear owners, these online reviews are meant to HELP CONSUMERS DECIDE whether or not to do business with you, and you to IMPROVE YOUR BUSINESS. Learn how to take criticisms constructively, not personally. The only thing wounded by these negative reviews is your ego. Don 't let your business suffer because of them. Use them to grow! Again, LEARN TO TAKE CRITICISMS CONSTRUCTIVELY. Acknowledge that your business is NOT perfect and there 's always room to grow. [End Quote] Feel free to defend yourself as you please. These online reviews are meant to help consumers. As I have previously said which you also deleted your response to negative reviews are quasi apologies (I 'm sorry if of reasons the CUSTOMERS did wrong read: EXCUSES accusations of hiding behind the computer are disgusting. This is your standard response on Facebook, Google, TripAdvisor. I 'm glad your human error fell on my rating because I got the chance to call you out on it. To post a response ON FACEBOOK to another user because you assumed I was a RELATIVE (not even the actual person! of someone who gave you a poor review ON OPENTABLE?! That 's unprofessional. That 's not even human decency. Like I said, defend your business if you please. But how do you defend your online encounters?! Of course, gauging by how you react to objective reviews, I am so sure you 're only going to tab these as nasty words. Too bad a highly experienced, talented chef is partnered with someone who doesn 't know how to manage criticisms. You deleted those comments without any offer of an apology to me, whom you mistook for another diner. Why? Because I gave you a one star? That 's not an excuse, especially for someone who says she 's capable of fixing.
Il Forno is a little slice of pasta heaven so close by the train!! Walking in, the room is so inviting and the staff is very warm accommodating. The best part is the food- it’s just fantastic and such great prices!! From the flatbread to the delicious pastas, everything is so well done. The bonus, BYOB so you can have wonderful food wine, and finish with a perfect espresso. Love Il Forno, it’s my get out of the City and indulge in everything Italian cuisine location.
My new favorite place to eat. Reasonably priced. The food is amazing. Chef Jeff does not disappoint. The atmosphere is beautiful, I felt welcomed.
We have been here several times and have enjoyed it every time. Wait staff is always great.
