Lo Zafferano - VITORCHIANO

Best mussels I’ve ever eaten and the service was superb. Really good pricing as well and the portions were huge. We could barely walk home.

The food is good and the service is friendly. The desserts, however, were exceptional. Give them a try!

We were wandering around the old town and decided to have lunch but there are no restaurants in the centro historico--just an old castle, lots of residences in centuries old houses, a novelty shop and a bar. Happened upon Zafferanos as we were returning to our car and our host was in process of closing for the afternoon (2 PM). He graciously stayed open, cooked some wonderfully tasty homemade pasta and gnocchi with a very flavorful tomato sauce and never hurried us while we dined. Great hospitality and even better food. Abbiamo mangiato in quattro tutti i piatti deliziosi, ben presentati. ottimo fettuccine ai funghi porcini, il vaso, uno stufato di tre tipi di carne alle olive tenere e appetitose, come la spezia alla vitorchiana. il servizio è veloce, il personale molto gentile. il posto è un rustico _ elegante, accogliente.
