Hosteria Del Cardinale - VITERBO

We found this restaurant whilst walking around Viterbo there wasn't many others open . We decided to eat inside as it was hot had an enjoyable meal . We had a starter of Prosciutto e Melone and then Lamb Chops with vino and my wife had Wild Boar Stew which she enjoyed . An enjoyable lunch!!

The food was surprisingly good. We had a simple pasta and sauce for our daughter which was good. My husband and I got the bistecca and tagliata. The bistecca was fine but the tagliata was delicious! Service was ok. Not really friendly or chatty.

My family and I went there for lunch on the weekend. We had the fixed-price menu. Entree was ok, bruschetta. Then pasta with frozen veggies...disappointing. Then my main meal never came. I had to ask for it after receiving only the side dish. Well it wasn't a compleat disaster but I would never recommend it to someone.

GREAT food, especially the grilled meats and salads. Delicious, delicious, delicious antipasti, and wonderful red wine. Beautiful restaurant decorated in shades of ochre, grey stone, and red. Friendly, efficient wait staff.

Arrived (4 people) at 12.30 there was 4people outside and none inside. It took more than 30 minutes to get each dish... And they were average. Not great, not good, plain average and definitely not worth the wait. Finally they didn't accept credit cards despite the sign.
