Really welcoming restaurant, just about to close but stayed open for us. The horse steak, chips and pepper sauce was a delight. I was half tempted after choosing my steak, when asked what I wanted on it, to say a fiver each way! But I held back. My colleague had to hear all the puns on the way home. Highly recommended.

We had a reservation for 8:30, but arrived at 8:38. We were not allowed to be seated in the restaurant because the kitchen was closed. Even when we said it was fine and we would stay for a beer since we had traveled all the way to Vilvoorde, we were told it is not a pub. This was the worst customer service!

This restaurant may not look like much from the outside, with its narrow and dated appearance, no credit card accepted policy, and focus on serving horse meat. However, despite these seemingly negative aspects, I must give it a 5-star rating for the following reasons: 1. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. 2. The quality of the meat is outstanding. 3. The cuisine is traditional and mainly homemade, including items like fries, sauce, and croquettes. 4. The owner is a unique and entertaining character. 5. They always offer a generous pour of alcohol as a digestif. If you appreciate the qualities mentioned above, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.
