Angkor Thom - Villeurbanne

Angkor Thom, located off of Grand Clement in Villeurbanne, is a great little restaurant with a lot of flair, a ton of flavor, and always provides a great time! The center of the restaurant is dominated by a giant fish tank with many little fantail goldfish happily swimming around. Decorations along the walls portray the restaurant's namesake, the Angkor Thom temple complex in Cambodia. During the summertime, an outdoor patio in the back provides a calm and comfortable dining experience (not that eating inside isn't great, as well . Providing an ample menu focused primarily on Cambodian cuisine (although some Chinese and Vietnamese is available , Angkor Thom has not once failed to wow my taste-buds. Excellent starters include the typical nems (eggrolls , samoussas, and steamed or fried dumplings. But I highly recommend the Potage Cambodgien soup. It s excellent! For your main dishes, you can't go wrong with any items on the menu but, particularly, the Canard Laqué or the Canard aux 5 Parfums are terrific. I personally love to add a little spice to a Beef Loc Lac> The staff as great as well. Truly a family operation, always friendly and helpful (especially for a someone like myself who doesn't speak French very well! . With a great discount lunch menu, and accessibly-priced dinner menus, you can't go wrong!
