204 Main Bistro

I dined at 204 Main Bar and Bistro last night with my husband, and everything was wonderful. We started with Caesar salads topped with white anchovies, which were beautifully presented, delicious, and quite filling. For our main course, we ordered the short ribs, which were tender and simply melted in your mouth. We were too full for individual desserts, so we shared one instead. My husband enjoyed a dirty martini, while I savored a cocktail that featured hops and ginger cordials among other ingredients, which I absolutely loved. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, contributing to a great experience. The decor had an urban chic vibe that added to the atmosphere. Our meal, which included two entrees, two large salads, three cocktails, and one dessert, totaled around $170. Given that pre-COVID prices would have placed this meal at about $110 for a restaurant of this quality, we acknowledge that prices have generally increased, making this a significant splurge for us. We will definitely be returning!

The food at this restaurant is truly exceptional! I was incredibly impressed by the ambiance, the delectable appetizers, and the refreshing mocktails; it felt like a fine dining experience! The biggest plus about this place is that the food is beautifully prepared and tastes delicious. My main course was supposed to have been served with an asparagus side dish and it did not come. By the time I saw a server again it was too late to ask for it. The service although friendly was pretty mediocre for a highish end restaurant. The servers continually forgot which dish went with which person and had to ask multiple times, and sometimes we had to trade things around. I don't think that service is acceptable for a place charging the prices that they charge.
