Dunns River Lounge, Inc.

Had a fantastic dinner with my wife on Saturday night. This was our first time at Dunns River Lounge and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was bright and the music set the Jamaican mood perfectly. The server was very helpful in deciding what cocktails and dishes we should have starting with the tropical storm punch and ginger beer tun up margarita to the callaloo saltfish, which was a nice mix of crispy plantains, codfish and greens (think spinach and collards). The owner, Naala came over to our table and made us feel as if we were in her home, so warm and inviting. Next up was the Saturday special of jerk bbq ribs with mac and cheese and sweat plantains; the ribs had the right amount of smoke and sauce, very flavorful and a definite winner. For our second entree we had the braised oxtail with rice and peas and steamed vegetables. These were some of the best oxtail I have had, nearly falling off the bone and finger licking delicious. This is a restaurant we will definitely be coming back to.

I almost hate to give a review because everyone is going to overrun this place! Service was on point. The food, I thought was seasoned well and proportion met our need. The non alcoholic drinks were pretty as well as tasty. This is definitely a hidden gem and we plan to go back again. Much success to Duns River!!!

I ordered food and drinks and all of my order was put to go when I was planning on dining in. My girlfriend and I were not given water and our drinks were put in to-go cups. The drinks were entirely ice with very little flavoring and alcohol put into them. The food we ordered was over priced for the portion size. I will not be coming back here.

Calicia was our server and she was absolutely amazing! So hospitable and accommodating, we’ll definitely be returning!

OMGOSHHHHHHHHH, I just did an uber eats and whoever the chef is here is really chefs kiss fr, I just had the best corn meal porridge in my life and I HATE corn meal porridge with everything in me!!!!! Don’t ever change them, I had some oxtails from here on my birthday last year and the jerk wings and it was so good now I just tried their breakfast and it’s amazing, hands down best jamaica food ever.
