The lady who welcomed us was also the waiter and the chef. She was great!! We had olives, bread, cheese, ham and a typical Portuguese sausage for starters. For mains we had Naco de Vitela, which is a really great steak, served with grilled potatoes and a sauce. We also had a tasty salad on the side. Had the house red wine, which was good. Finished off with desserts and coffee. Ended up paying 44 euros. Cheap for the amount of food we got.
Bom, vinho é do Douro, claro!
We were walked to the village cafe/bar/restaurant by our Casa da Trigueira host who stayed long enough to check that we were going to get the meal we wanted (an unnecessary but nice touch). We agreed to share one steak and this was adequate in quantity and exceptional in quality. Tapas style meat and cheese was served automatically and we hared a pud. The (good) wine had the village name on the back-label but it's not traceable on the internet!. We were the only diners, a few peeps drank with the landlord/lady. An excellent meal charged at abot a third of meal price in Porto so very gvfm
Comida caseira, excelente atendimento, ambiente acolhedor.
Muito bom! Comemos cabrito assado . Recomendo
