Mezzaluna - Vila do Conde

We arrived at the restaurant around 21h30 and asked for a table. The manager of the place promptly told us that she would prepare a table but, some minutes after, she went inside and was chatting with some friends. Thus, we asked the only waitress that we saw in that day to help us she then prepared the table and we sitted. We asked for some pizzas but, at that time neither pizzas nor lasagnas were available. We ordered 3 pastas and a bruschetta instead. These four dishes (one is a starter! took 1h30 to arrive at our table, even though the restaurant was almost empty. The amount of food per plate was ridiculously little, particularly considering the high prices we paid. The salmon bruschetta (10€ was filled of lettuce (a good strategy to seem more voluminous . We obviously didn't ask for desserts and we don't pretend to come back soon. I don't really recommend this restaurant: it is way expensive, the service is slow and it's awkward to be in a restaurant where the manager is complaining with the waitress in front of the clients.

I probably spend 5 weeks away in total each year. Have been lucky enough to have been to many countries but this was without doubt the worst place ever. Five of us including a 10-year-old boy and we left after waiting two hours for food. And restaurant was only half full. We were 100 per cent polite and we were ignored. The boy became upset so we left. Weird

Food is tasty. The risoto have a twist with excellent Portuguese products. Service is OK but it could improve with a little more professionalism.

They put one of those trays full of tempting little morsels with bread that I didn't ask for, and would have charged me an arm and a leg for if I'd touched it, and I just managed to stop them opening a bottle of sparkling water that I also hadn't asked for. Honestly, I thought this little scam had been stamped out 30 years ago. Not a good trust builder, so I was on the alert for other dirty tricks for the rest of the evening. Bit of a spoiler.
