Rias Gallegas - Vigo

We visited vigo for nye and this was one of the few restaurants open(and that’s a plus! . We ordered 2 steaks and the prices were clearly higher because of the occasion, which didn’t please us. The meat was not cooked as much as we like it but no one actually asked us about our preference most restaurants do. The service was ok, the waiter was nice.

We arrived in Vigo on a Sunday where pretty much nothing is open and we came across this place. Ordered the black paella. Was just a waste of money and the food was so basic. Very poor and terrible value.

A delightful lady selling this restaurant lured us in with the offer of a few extras at no cost. We took the lure and accepted the deal. The food was of reasonable quality , the service was not exactly friendly and the free wine was not to the local standard. The location and history of the area is awesome . I would return only for drinks and to enjoy the location of this restaurant.

We visited Vigo on a cruise. We normally holiday in Andalusia and really enjoy all types of sea food, mariscos etc. We stopped here for a quick drink after wandering aimlessly around the old town. The place seemed to be full of Spanish locals and larger older people. We decided to try some racions of seafood. We ordered Pulpo gallego, cold and gelatinous, almost inedible.Small scallops Zabarinos? again terrible , undercooked and probbaly not fresh, Clams Berberechos which were vile and smelly and the worst plate of rubbery Calamari I have ever had. Needless to say we left virtually all of it. I may as well have given 50 euros to a beggar, I would have at least felt better. I am somewhat relieved to find that this restaurant is rated one of the worst in Vigo at least I know its not just us and I can at least look forward again to enjoying some excellent seafood next time in Spain. Avoid like the plague or you may catch it!

Our older waiter was grumpy and seemed irritated at any request that we made. They lured us in with the cheap tapas menue and then charged us the racion price. We had to dispute several items on our bill. The seafood was not fresh and overcooked They take advantage of their convenient location and abuse their clients. There are many smaller, more charming restaurants just up the street.
