Super bierlokal in the heart meadow where there is also wine. very nice staff, good atmosphere. smoker and non-smoking area.

Philosoph is the bar I frequent most often with both my girlfriend and friends. The place is very affordable and between 5pm and 8pm they always have happy hour, during which you can get beer for as little as €2.80. The location is brilliant as...well. Right in the Bermuda Dreieck, close to Schwedenplatz, one of Vienna's loveliest places, next to a very old, simple but stunning church. They also play really good music, but not too loud so as to be able to actually have a conversation in there and not just quietly look your friends in the eye while drinking your beer or having to shout in order to make yourself heard. Martin, the bartender, is just great. He will talk, he will listen, he will give you advice on what your next drink should be if you are not quite sure. They also sell t-shirts for €18, so you may want to grab one of those as well while there.

Set within the student triangle' this bar offers an interesting range of 8 local beers on tap and ten different bottled beers. The bar staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about their beers. Philosoph is in the middle of a row of seven bars and...set in a very quiet part of town with outdoor drinking in all establishment though to make sure it stays as quiet as it can you are asked to go inside by 10.45. Sport television for most of the year. Doesn't sound much but it is a good place to have a quiet drink.
