Decanter American Tapas - Victoria Park

Fantastic American style tapas (or mains) location with a good beer and cocktail range on the menu.

Came here on a Friday without a booking for a drink and nibbles, we walked in a the decor and ambience was lovely and very cosy, the were pretty booked up

Went in for a light dinner after our movie on Wednesday night around 8.30ish.

I quite enjoyed my experience here - we came as a group and had a table booked as requested, and when the weather went bad staff were lovely about moving inside. We were curious about the beers and one of the staff dug out their secret reserve stack of beers out the back which was really nice. Our food servings were generous and tasty, with some really good value $15 lunch deals. My spicy buffalo wings were especially notable - not very spicy and not traditional buffalo sauce but they tasted so delectable, and were cooked to a hot, fresh and juicy crispy perfection. The jalapeño poppers were huge and fresh, and so yummy. The fried chicken waffles with whiskey maple, OMG - I don't go for sweet dishes but that was amazing even if presentation wasn't the best. My sliders were OK, not as hot and tasty but not bad - they really needed a condiment. I tried the loaded fries and mac and cheese which were OK but I loved my own choices and will definitely go back. I was impressed at what they could do with such a tiny kitchen. The only thing was we wanted to order more drinks and desserts too but we had to repeatedly ask for service and it was too difficult that we ended up going elsewhere after but this seems to be a Perth trend. We otherwise enjoyed our experience and I have been back (from craving those wings) and the service was excellent. I noticed the owner (when he had time) made sure to check on all tables personally and meet his customers which was a really nice touch. I definitely feel like this business cares a lot about it's customers.
