The Market Stores Yates - Victoria

They have many different vegan cheeses and many frozen vegan meals such as mozzarella sticks and vegan baked lasagnas. They also have vegan pate, cream cheese and vegan queso.

This is a big store in downtown. Has a lot of local, island and BC products to choose. Many vegan market goods (e.g. products, speed) and good products.

I became this store by a receptionist in my hostel (both the store and the hostel were on Yates St., such a very convenient location). I didn't expect much of this conventional looking supermarket, but was totally amazed! Especially thanks to their wide range of vegan cheeses of all kinds. You have everything you might think of as a vegan. The few types of vegan muffins (I tried the rosin one) were just a cherry on the summit.

The Market Stores is locally-owned family operated. They have 2 outlets, at Yates at Millsteam. The Millstream location is at Millstream Village in Langford. The store carries a wide selection of local produce. I like their variety of vegan organic products too. Although their store is not as large as the big chain grocery stores out there, they have a decent selection of international products for Asian cooking. They also usually have some vegan baked treats at the deli section, so keep a lookout if you go by the store! Although this store is at a nice location has a nice vibe, I don't shop there much because Langford has so many other grocery stores. Before I get to The Market Stores, I'm likely to have already been done with my shopping. It is nice to have them in the neighbourhood though.
