Wah Lai Yuen Restaurant - Victoria

This Chinese restaurant can get really busy. We had dinner here and the food was OK. The baked pork rice we ordered was quite salty but the stir fry noodles was OK. Compared to Chinese food in Toronto this was passable.

Excellent service and the best Combination Dinner I have ever had. The sweet n sour pork was wonderful! Price was very reasonable too!

Friendly smile and welcoming was the first impression I had. We quickly set down and the staff bring a pot of hot tea right away for FREE. I sat down and ordered. Within 5 mins, my order was on the table. Fast service! Mandarin, English, and Cantonese language available.Bakery was GOOOOD! You can pay with USD, CAD, and credit card. Food was good. Restaurant is clean and bright.

Have been here twice in the past couple weeks, each time having the wonton noodle soup with the fresh egg noodles. First time, with the bbq pork. Second time, crispy pork belly. Also had a side of bbq duck. The crispy pork was heaven!! Probably the best I have ever had. Loved the duck, the broth in the plate was so good, all chinese five spice and fatty.... slurped it right up! Had the coconut bun afterwards and was pleasantly surprised it was not super sweet. Great meal overall!!

A good find in Victoria for Chinese food. The place was clean, bright and does not look run-down. The bbq pork and duck, kinda dry. The Szechuan beans could be dryer and a requires a bit more spice. The brisket tendon hotpot was good, however the tendon needs to be cooked a bit more, softer. Overall, a good find kn Victoria. However, this can not be compared to what you can find in Richmond/Vancouver.
