Hanks A Restaurant - Victoria

I went for a dinner date based on a friend's recommendation that it was good. We ordered the tasting menu at $65 per person. Unfortunately, every dish was extremely salty and overly seasoned. The oyster dish had a strong fishy taste, leading me to believe the oysters were expired. The music was disappointing as well, all loud rock music which was unexpected. Overall, I was seriously disappointed and the meal was not worth the cost. The biggest disappointment was that the oysters were so bad that my partner and I got food poisoning as a result.

I couldn't help but exclaim words like "this is shockingly good" and "this should be illegal" during our meal at this restaurant. Needless to say, we were very impressed. The chef, who was also the owner, had a true talent for creating delicious dishes. The sauces were especially standout, but the perfectly cooked meats, homemade pasta, and homemade ice cream were also exceptional. We will definitely be returning for the tasting menu and to enjoy our favorite dishes again. Even my husband, who rarely comments on such things, said the seats were comfortable and he absolutely loved the food.

We had a wonderful time at Hank’s. we went on a Friday and were able to walk in without a reservation. We ordered the goat tacos, the oysters, the ling cod, and the radicchio salad with riblets. Everything was served tapas style, my husband, and I shared everything. We especially loved the goat, the oysters and the cod. We both highly recommend Hank’s. It’s definitely a great restaurant.

We had a really disappointing experience at Hanks last night. We have visited twice before, but this time the service was extremely slow, the food was overcooked, and we observed that there was only one chef working for a very busy restaurant.

Shocking how good this place is!!! Had the burger and wings sounds pretty standard right? Ya..not here...these were elevated to a level that left me completely shocked...everything (I mean everything) is made from scratch right down to the delicious bun the burger was served on..every sauce, ground their own meat wings were brined, then sous vide, then fried crispy in house hot sauce as well as hous mead bluecheese sauce I'm running back!!!See you soon!
