I had mussels and a salad, clocking in at 34.00 combined. Both were delicious, but after 2 drinks each at 14.00 a piece, (2 of which were local beer) the total bill was $200.00, including tip. Not quite what I'd expected for just 2 of us.
Our server Hank was superb and the food was delicious
Great restaurant, great food, great hotel. Will be back!
Menu was quite limited. Only one salad choice. My meal (salmon) was a bit overdone for my taste, but still acceptable.
Of all the restaurants that I have visited over the 10 years I have been an open table member, this has to be the absolute worst. First, our reservation was later at 9pm as it was Valentine 's day, but I had left a phone message with the restaurant to let us know if a table opened up earlier, as we were staying at the hotel. No call, and when we arrived it was empty, so tell me a table was not available earlier? When asked the staff informed us that the last table left at 8:30pm. There were no decorations or acknowledgement of the day, not even a flower on the table, the environment was sterile and the tables had already been laid for breakfast on the next day. Service was slow when there was any, the meal was a set menu with a few choices. I had a seafood chowder as an appetizer which was passable, my wife 's manicotti was cool and dry. We both ordered a rack of lamb, but the waitress only brought one, and when we asked them to make another, we were told they could not as the kitchen had closed, so we ended up having to share what we had. The dessert was a lava cake that maybe at one point had a molten centre, but not by the time we received it. To add insult to injury, the wine (red that we ordered was grossly overtemperature, and we had to put it into an ice bucket to make it drinkable. However, the staff claimed that they had 'checked ' it previously. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that he conveniently had the night off. On Valentine 's day? Herein lies some of the issue. It was interesting that the restaurant had private rooms in the back that were occupied at the same time we were there, and these people seemed to be having a great old time and had food (one was a rack of lamb, mine, maybe? , and were being looked after, and we were not. It was obvious where the priorities of this restaurant lie. We had more fun at the pub next door on the following day. And to top it off, it cost me over $150.
