Room is a little tight, and there is no room in their lobby/entrance.A hot bowl of soup will hit the spot on a cold winter day. Their menu has a variety of soups to choose from, or you can choose your own broth, type of noodle, and meats/veggies. Some dishes include a drink, and some do not. This chain restaurant has many locations in the Greater Vancouver area.
We have patronized this establishment about a year ago for a late night snack and found the food to be flavorful and reasonable and our server was pleasant and attentive. This time we brought my disabled aunt for lunch and it was not the most pleasant. The restaurant is small and the tables are very close together. They were busy during lunch and the male server first put us a table that was very difficult to access for an abled bodied person let alone a senior with a walking disability. When we asked for another table that was easier accessible for my aunt the male server said that was for 4 persons, we should have left but after some discussion he relented and threw the menus on the table and angrily put two tables together. The food is nice, but we found the menu items are designed for individualized ordering as opposed to ordering a variety of dishes for all to select from.
This is my wife's favourite local restaurant. Friendly service and they recently updated their menu to show tons of food by photos. I love their deep friend chicken wings and chicken curry, they also offer a wide array of noddle soups that you can customize. Always awesome. They serve combo meals and their hot almond milk is lovely. Clean, trendy looking design located in a strip mall in-between Tynne & Boundary on Kingsway this place gets a lot of return traffic.
Cattle Cafe is a chain of noodle houses in the Metro Vancouver area. They are known for their build your own noodle bowl combos. You can choose of a variety of soup bases, most popular is the original fish soup, also has fish with parsley and century egg, laksa, medicinal, etc. You can then choose two toppings choice of fish cake, mushrooms, seaweed, gluten, etc. You can also add side orders like chicken wings or shrimp skewers or deep fried fish. Typical HK style noodles and baked rice is also available. I only come here for the build your own noodle combos because I like the variety and they give you a really big bowl. Other drinks like shakes, bubble teas are also good. Although I remember one time I ordered my bubble tea to go and they charged me extra as take out. Service is not the best as they appear to be young students working part time to get some experience. You don't come to a noodle place for service either. Overall good value for healthy delicious food (of course it depends on what you order). Tip: bring an extra layer of clothing as they seem to always have the air con on (probably to prevent the soup from steaming up the windows). Not a bar scene, no outdoor seating.
Upon first entering, the restaurant appeared well-lit and attractive.
