Staff are super friendly and are on top of getting refills and top ups (water, coffee). Staff alsoconcious of food allergies and preferences, able to cater to each person (was in a larger group). Good variety of breakfast/brunch foods, smaller selection for lunch but can make the brunch foods at lunch. Acoloholic and non-alcoholic drinks areavailable.
I had, what was probably the best banana pancakes I've ever had, in my life at this dynamite Victoria staple. Yes, there was a wait, but it was well worth it. I had a full Ratatouille moment, sans the pen drop; just a wave of good flavours and memories ofsitting at the table, dining upon a fat stack of banana pancakes as a little kid. Nothing on that menu is going to be a miss, ladies and gents. It's all up to what you want, and it'll be a treat. The drinks are also really good too! With proper homemadewhipped cream, turn any coffee into a champion with a splash of Bailey's to boot. Just...be patient, wait in line, and you'llsee what the fuss is about.
The restaurant has excellent flavor, presentation and service. There may be a wait, so arrive early. The breakfast plate was fantastic with delicious jam. Everything was cooked perfectly and looked great. I will definitely be returning. My husband also loved his sweet pancake dish.
If you can be patient, you will be able to secure a table at this restaurant. Despite the long wait on a Saturday morning, we were seated at 11:10 after lining up at 10:20, and our food arrived promptly at 11:30. The real breakfast potatoes were a promising start to the meal. The Creole chicken club sandwich was good, while the Apple French toast was just okay. The dishes were well-presented and the portions were generous. The seating area was small and there were only a few waitresses attending to customers. The bright, rustic environment featured huge windows that showcased the waiting patrons who were clearly envious of the food. The coffee was decent.
I visited this restaurant on a Saturday and encountered a long line outside, but it moved quickly. The menu was located outside the front door, but we were seated before we could view it, so we had to look it up online on our phones. The restaurant seemed busy and possibly understaffed. I ordered a dish and requested the mushrooms be swapped for beans, while my friend asked for the same dish but without tomatoes. Unfortunately, neither of our dishes had tomatoes, and one of us received ketchup while the other did not, even though we ordered the same thing. We were eventually able to get this issue fixed by flagging down a staff member. The food was delicious with generous portions and the coffee was good. Despite the small mistakes, possibly due to the busy staff, I deducted a star from my rating. I would consider returning, especially to try their cocktails, but preferably when I'm not driving.
