Baan Thai - Victoria

Place had very selective service. For some people they seemed attentive, but for others they seem to be disinterested. I had ordered 20 minutes before another person that ordered the same thing, but they received their food before (it was literally the same dish), the difference was that we were POC and they weren 't, so it seemed a bit racist. We also had to ask for water 2 times when they were just giving water for other looking richer costumers without them even asking. It had all the weird atmosphere of a place that did not want you there if you weren 't the kind of customer they want to have. Also you can 't really call a food authentic thai cuisine when there 's literally nobody that looks remotely Thai working in the place. Won 't come back even though the food was actually pretty good, there are other more receptive (and tastier) thai restaurants in Victoria, you all should go to those and save your time from going here.

This is a really popular Thai place. You should make a reservation because it fills up. The food is great, the service is adequate, the tables are really close

Our family friend highly recommended Baan! The sweetest staff and food was as good as it gets. Our server Autumn was hilarious, hard working and very knowledgeable.We shared a Tom Kha Gai to start which was great after a long rainy day. I had Pad See Ew w/ beef and Pap’s had Pad Thai w/ Humboldt squid. We each got a side of peanut sauce which was great to add on here and there. Both dishes were so good Pad see ew with beef is an absolute must if it’s your first time. Highly recommend!

Absolutely top tier Thai Food. The lunch specials here are out of this world with flavour and quality. I've been working downtown for 15 years and this is easily my #1 attended lunch location it's fantastic every time. The lunch special comes with soup, spring roll and a massive main dish, which will leave you stuffed. Highly recommended.
