Bayou Foods - Vicksburg

We chose this restaurant for our trip because it was conveniently located near the exit and had ample parking. It was Friday night, so we had to wait about 5 to 8 minutes for a table. Our waitress promptly took our drink orders. My wife ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo, which was fantastic. I had the fried catfish, which was great and paired well with the rice and beans (which were just okay). The bread, however, was delicious, and we enjoyed a few extra rolls.

I had a great experience dining at Gumbo Pot during my trip to Vicksburg, MS. I tried the fried shrimp, oysters, catfish, and the white chocolate bread pudding. Naturally, I couldn't visit Gumbo Pot without sampling their gumbo. It was decent, but the flavor was different from what I expected. While the shrimp and fish were tasty, I must say the oysters and white chocolate bread pudding were my favorites. The menu offers a variety of options to satisfy everyone in your group. I would definitely return when I'm in the area again.

This is a lovely spot for fresh, delicious food. The servers and owners are very friendly, making for a welcoming atmosphere. The homemade dishes are packed with flavor and offered at very reasonable prices, far superior to fast food options in the area. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, as well as the catfish with their homemade sauce—both are fantastic! The daily specials are always a great choice, perfect for dining here regularly. And don't miss out on the white chocolate bread pudding; it's a must-try! You'll definitely want to share this place with friends and family!

Amazing food! The darkened catfish with crustfish étouffée was incredible. Such a great sauce. The seafood gumbo was also delicious. We tried the cooked shrimp dinner (comes with potatoes and corn on the cable) and the shrimps were great. We also tried the Shrimp Grits who had a great taste and was super creamy. Many people around us arranged the 4 lbs of cancer and it looked really good. Even the baked beans and the baked potato salad were some of the best I had for a long time. Our server was friendly and helpful. I'm trying to leave a 4-star review because it took us a very long time to get our food, our check and pay our bill, but the food was just so good that it exaggerated the slow service. We would highly recommend this place!

First time eating here and the food was great. The gumbo was seasoned well but the shrimp were a little too done for me and the fried green tomatoes were delicious . First time eating them but I will get me a double order next time.
