The place try to be very nice (it is recommended by Michelin) and the dining room is spacious and ok. Service was good and efficient. The food was really heavy, i took a hot goat cheese toast with salad/coppa and it was good and a large amount. Then i took one of my favorite bistrot food that i did not had in 30 years since i left France, it is quenelles of fish (fish mousse in sauce). This one was good but serve with mushrooms, heavy creme and cheese, honestly I could not finish as it was super heavy. So not bad but just too rich, not too expensive (36 euros) with 1 beer/1 wine and if you are in winter and feel something rich and heavy, this is the place. In the middle of July, not too much.
Five of us including a 5 year old had lunch here on a Tuesday. We were all casually dressed and on first thoughts when we walked in we felt underdressed but the staff we great. They have so much choice and such great value given the high quality of the food and service. If you just wanted the plat du jour and not the typical entree, plat, dessert that was ok to. They had a couple of kids menus of offer and were more than happy for the little one to get her colouring books out. We shared a fantastic bottle of rose and had a wonderful relaxing meal. All the dishes were yummy and the dessert divine. The service was impeccable and very accommodating with kids. It was lunch time and they weren’t overly busy so not sure about dinner.
I like this place for his excellent quality of fresh food ... Entries and pastries are so delicious. waiters are helpful and organized. Well, tariffs are reasonable for this quality and customers are a lot , at any time ...better to book before coming, especially if more you are a big family or a friends group.
We visited this restaurant on recommendation of our hotel and are very glad we did. The gambas and egg were delicious as was the fois gras. We both followed with the skate. When it arrived the portion looked small but looks are deceptive!! The whole meal was excellent and the service unobtrusive but attentive. Would highly recommend this restaurant when in Vichy.
Tried here because of the Trip Advisor review and our youngest daughter (16) wanted snails! We were not disappointed, the atmosphere was friendly and informal despite the plush surroundings. The three of us ate from the 32 euros menu. Snails for starters (excellent). For main course steaks that were plump and juicy, and King Prawn Paella (also plump and juicy), local and regional cheeses and then incredible ice cream; all washed down with wine and Leffe beer. The service by our waiter was impeccable, attentive though not in the extreme. Will definitely return should we find ourselves inn Vichy again. PS very handy for the railway station...
