La Bitta Trattoria Pizzeria - VIAREGGIO

My daughter and son in law live in Viareggio, they took us to this little restaurant for a quick lunch last week. l must admit that when we walked in l didn 't know what to expect, it is a very simple trattoria, simple wooden tables and chairs, clean, interesting photos and artifacts of the local fishing area. This trattoria is run by a couple, husband outfront and his wife cooking in the back. We started with penne and ragu and l had penne and sea food, delicious! We then had a main of a type of 'plaice ' fish and roast potatoes which was really was so tasty. Coffee was then offered..............all for the price of 10 euro. Apparently it 's 16 euro in the evening. it 's open Mon Friday, Saturday lunchtime only and closed Sundays. We loved it, very tasty at a great price, we will be eating there everytime we visit Viareggio.

UPDATE: We returned to eat here yesterday 30th May, 2013.....very busy as usual but found a table for four easily enough. We ordered a risotto with prawns and courgettes for our starter...very creamy, delicious and a generous helping, my son in law ordered white bait with salad.....also delicious. Our main dish was chicken and chips.......just the job very tasty. Wine,water and bread included in the price..........all for the price of €40. What more could you want for that price....a charming waiter with a smile (the husband out front) and his wife cooking out the back. Very clean place to eat with good food very little money. Don 't miss it if you visit Viareggio....it 's along the canal walking up to the town, it 's on your left.......La BItta.

Great staff, very kind and competent. you eat well

Personal to the hand and kind but it is the price to make the difference. recommended.
