Au Mandarin Royal - Versailles

Went there by recommendation, staff was very friendly, even though not everyone spoke English. However, you won't be lost ;) Food came fast, hot and very tasty. Definitely a place to eat in Versailles!

Really disappointing restaurant although it is well ranked for restaurants in Versailles! The waiters are rude, the food quantity is poor, and my friends and I were sick for two days after we went there! For the love of God don't go there!

The place was really crowded due to tourists who were brought into the restaurant by tour guides. I walked in to ask if it was available to serve us. At first they ignored me then they answered no place, asked me how many persons and said wait 10 minutes. Being understanding knowing that it was packed, we waited out in the cold (0 degree) temperature for 10 minutes. I went back in to ask again and they asked, what do you want? So I said, you said wait for 10 minutes, then they said still no place wait another 10 minutes. AND WE STUPIDLY DID! People were walking out already so I walked back in to ask. At the same time another tour group came. A smaller group who would have only occupied 2 tables. They quickly cleared the table for them. Then asked me what did I want again. AFTER 2 TIMES. We should have left but we were patient. They asked if we were willing to eat their pre-cooked food because they are not taking orders. Seriously? Why didn't they say that in the first place? Only after 30 minutes of waiting and asking? My dad's 70 years old! After that long we were only starving and agreed to the fixed menu. We were charged 60 Euro for 5 dishes which was the worst tasting ever. (Mind you we've been to many good chinese restaurants in France and this wasn't one of them.

We visited as a family and had a pleasant meal. Some of the dishes were better than others, but all were nice. The service varied from the lady who taught the children how they should eat their starters and with which sauces to the very solemn faced waitress who only managed a smile as we left! Nonetheless, they were attentive and we enjoyed our evening.

Excellent chinese restaurant next to the covermarket in Versailles. Traditional decoration, warm place and delightful welcome. Nems are particularly crusty and tasty. Everything is very fresh and the courses are not too expensive. Often full: better book a table.
