mahoroba - Vernon

Mahoroba Japanese Restaurant is a small but quaint family operated restaurant located on the main street of Vernon, BC. Open year round closed on holidays, Sundays and Mondays. Great for lunch and dinner. Menu items are limited however quality and freshness exceeds the norm. Accommodates mid-sized groups or singles. Good family environment. Private room upon request. Recommend booking in advance. Prices are good for the quality in return.

This small understated restaurant is wonderful. Great bento boxes and sushi. Lovely staff. It will be my first stop the next time I'm back in Vernon.

Call to make a reservation or show up early, as the tables fill quickly here. Always great food and friendly service. We've been taking our son here since he was barely able to sit at the table and he'd leave a sea of rice in his wake. They were still always happy to see us and warm greetings when we arrived.

Who knew there was a little private room in the back - different and fun! Restaurant was full at lunch so we were offered the private room. Keep that in mind and good idea to make a reservation. Seaweed salad was delicious and the few rolls we had were okay .- nothing special here. Bento boxes looks awesome and will definatly try that next time.Staff was very friendly and I would definately try this again.

Better make reservations for this wonderful place! It's not big inside and it was packed with customers. The bento boxes are delish!
