Little Tex Restaurant - Vernon

Excellent food! Love this little restaurant! Super cute... Staff are great too! Been here a few times and I'm sure we will keep going for many more!

With extremely few Mexican/Tex Mex restaurants in Vernon, we tried Little Tex with fairly high hopes of delicious food. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all. To start with, the menu is all over the map and needs major changes in order to actually make the food Tex Mex--there were far too many curry and Asian AND pasta AND Greek options. Also, far too many burgers on the menu. Now, about the actual food that we ordered: everything tasted as though a can was opened and the contents were emptied onto Mexican ingredients. We literally have made better Mexican food at home. Nothing in either of our meals was spiced or seasoned or flavoured enough. It was very mediocre at best.

Lunch here is always tasty. A bit on the expensive side, but it seems to always be busy, and they've been in business for decades. I have never been disappointed, portions are perfect, the Spinach Curry soup is killer, and the menu has many selections, everything from Curry bowls to Quesidillas, Burgers everything between. $15-20 for lunch every day would be a killer, but as a special treat now again, it's a must. You deserve it.

Had super high hopes for this place after tasting the Chili at the cook off and the friendly service we received that day. We arrived for a dinner later (7-ish) and while the Margarita was tasty we were all disappointed with our meals. I had the Steak Fajitas and although the fixings were plentiful the Steak was tough and way over cooked and the mushrooms were closer to dehydrated rather than sauteed. We did get 25% off my $17 Fajitas even though I probably are less than 20% of it. Hubbie had the Chicken Enchilada and found it to have way too much corn and not enough actual chicken. Our 8 year old had the soft taco which was actually crispy and he had a hard time fitting it onto his mouth He liked the tator tots but actually told us why didnt i get a real soft taco? That wouldve been easier and tastier Again the service was great but the food was pretty disappointing. Not sure if we will go back.

Been coming here for years and always enjoyed the food. But something has happened of late, and twice now I've found the food to be horrible. what happened to the delicious soups? the salads have changed as well ,really awful. Wont be coming back, too bad
