Had a funny old meal here, not great but still actually enjoyed the night. Myself and my wife were just looking for an evening meal and as this restaurant seemed to have quite a few happy looking customers in we stopped to try it. Sat at one of the only available tables, which was stripped, but the waitress appeared very quickly, made up the table and took our drinks order. So far so good. Menu was fairly standard but with a few slightly different dishes on which I hadn 't seen in the area. My wife ordered lamb chops and I went for an entrecote steak, cooked medium. Wife 's chops arrived and looked good, but I got a fillet steak instead of the entrecote i had ordered. It was only a few euros more expensive, so I wasn 't too bothered. Thing was, it was cooked blue IE just seared briefly on either side. Now I know people 's idea of a steaks 'doneness ' varies a bit, but there was no version of reality in which this steak could have been considered medium. Thing is, it was a really good piece of meat, very generous size, cut from the middle of the fillet, no sinew or fat and nicely seasoned. I just couldn 't figure out how they thought it was cooked properly. I asked the waitress to take it back to the kitchen and get it cooked a bit more, which she did without issue, in fact she seemed quite genuinely concerned that it wasn 't right for me. It came back a few minutes later, sort of approaching medium rare and I just had it like that. It was actually a really good bit of steak and the chips with it were lovely, proper home made ones. In spite of this issue, I thoroughly enjoyed being in this restaurant, the staff were really pleasant, very friendly and helpful and I would probably give it another try it in the area.
Visited after reading recommendations but to be honest we were both disappointed. Garlic prawns were big and juicy but pretty tasteless and carbonara was a bit of a mess. The spaghetti was completely stuck together to the point where I could not twirl it onto my spoon with the fork, o for first time ever I had to literally chop up the spaghetti in the bowl so I could eat it. Friendly waiter though. Reasonable prices for what we ordered but some of the dishes were expensive. Wouldn’t bother going again sadly.
