Osteria Mercante - Venice

No bad meal and prices not bad. Not one on the more expensive not to go too far and not rushed

A small place with only two waiters. The restaurant was full. We assumed it was filled with locals. All customers have proven themselves to be tourists. It took a while to get the order. A spicy pizza wasn't as sharp as it was. Cannelloni with spinach and ricotta turned out to be a small part.

Poor quality food, seafood is tasteless (probably frozen, although the state it is fresh) and the bread that they have served was very gummy from this world. The pasta sauce also felt acidity. The staff is so (they could smile more) and the service is very slow. Prices are reasonable if you go with some offers (e.g. The Fork). Even then, I would never go back. Not only a star, because the location is good and the restaurant is sweet.

If you expect good and original Italian cuisine, this is probably not the place. We ordered two parts and the sizes were not sufficient, nor was the quality. Staff was friendly. There is a tax (not mentioned in the menu) of 13 service fee on the food price and a 5 EUR Cuvert. Not very cheap, but this is Venice.

Pity I did not read this review before walking in. The scallops were not cooked enough. They felt cold. They could have told us that the second plate Seppie alla Veneziana included polenta (it was not anywhere on the menu) since I had a starter with polenta.
