We reserves a table for tonight to watch the match between England and Italy for 20:30 having arribes at 20:20 there was no table available, we where advise thats some people were leaving and our table will be availabl in a few minutes. We sat to wait and then our table was given to someone else, we then where ask to sit with someone else, when we said its not what we reserved we where offered a table in a corner. We left at the end and went to another bar as we didn't like the service, and the way we were treated was very poor.
We wanted to celebrate our sapphire wedding anniversary but had to be budget conscious. From enquiries, we learnt that on Friday nights there is a two course evening meal for E 7.95c with singing and music. Saturday also has music but Fridays is the English night. It 'was 'Fish Chips ' for mains on our night. We were looking forward to it because the Spanish know how to cook fish well. A table was reserved and we sat under the stars, having watched sunset turn to night. A Beautiful urban scene with people watching as the various generations strolled past on the main street some distance from out table. We were given napkins and place mats. For desserts we just sipped liquers whilst listening to nightime birdsong in the adjacent trees. The staff will not hurry you here, the chef came to see if everything was satisfactory, Ellie our waitress speaks fluent English. Apparently there is internet but we did not use it. You might just pass this small establishment by as it has a distinct but unprepossing appearance and is better known to the locals, not the tourists. Always a good sign when you see Spanish families drinking and relaxing as is the case here. The front entrance is on a busy road but traffic lights mean that vehicles crawl by with the engines purring rather than roaring. However the client/us sit in a side garden many metres away from the traffic and after dark legends soft lighting illuminates just the seating area and the gentle music covers any hum from traffic. Including a bottle of house wine, bottled water, liquers and tip, the two course meal was 40 Euros. Thank you John owner/manger for creating an enjoyable experience. They do alternate Sunday lunches of either roast of the day or Paella. Check and reserve before you go. Every blessing Chris and Anna
