Indian Dhaba - Vega

Travelling along I-40 is very lonely, but this place make me not feeling lonely any more. Once I step my foot in the door smell and feel at home. Staffs are friendly, foods are great. After speaking to staff there, they said it's under new management and everything is much better than the old owner. Definitely will stop by again whenever I have chance.

I stopped at the pilot to take a shower and try some Indian food, since how often do you get the opportunity for delicious Indian cuisine while traveling? Plus, they’re open seven days a week until 11 PM! However, when I called to place an order at 10:20, they informed me they were already closed. So, it looks like we won't be having Indian food tonight... what a disappointment!

Damned good home-style Indian food. Don't let the gas station/truck stop ambiance dissuade you, the food is the real deal. We ate the lunch buffet and it was great. Chicken curry, some spicy yummy lentils and a chickpea dish that totally surprised me with it's loveliness. Fresh cooked chapatti's kept arriving at the table. And when we paid there was my favorite end to great Indian meal, the fennel and candy. The restaurant added a few minutes to our journey, but it will be the way we go from now on!

Last May, I passed through Vega, TX, and stopped for gas. While at the gas station, I noticed a grand opening sign for an Indian restaurant, so I decided to take a peek inside. The place looked a bit shabby, but a friendly guy approached me and asked if I'd like to eat, so I thought, "Why not?" I’m glad I did—the food was excellent! It’s an Indian buffet with around 10 to 15 dishes, and everything was delicious. The service was great, too. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem in an unlikely location. I will definitely make a point to stop by again in the future.

The food and hospitality here are unparalleled. We tried the chicken tikka masala and bhindi masala, and it was simply outstanding. It's a reminder that appearances can be deceptive—this restaurant is truly a hidden gem!
