Chez Les Ch'tis - Vayrac

An ordinary looking place but one of the best meals we had in the region. Pizzas and burgers are good but better to stick to the shortish menu of classic dishes, cooked properly and in generous portions. Local specialities and bistro favourites were all delicious, especially the crottin de chèvre with honey, and salad with gesiers and foie gras. Service is friendly and very efficient, and also with real care, so all the small things are taken care of. Fantastic.

The restaurant is situated in the centre of the town close to a car park and other amenities. In this sense it is an admirable 'watering hole ' for those passing through the region or, indeed, seeking a starting point for walks by the glorious Dordogne or a visit to Julius Caesar 's last battle in 51BC. The food is well prepared and is presented at a reasonable price making the whole good value. In addition, the owners are very welcoming and helpful. For anything from a morning coffe to a full evening meal this restaurant is highly recommended. Unpretentious and good value so typical of this region on the border between La Correze and Le Lot two 'departements ' that many tourists miss on their way to the trendy regions further to the south. Rest here a while and experience what many have failed to notice. It will not be in vain!

Deux sandwichs pris dans ce restaurant, et en plus du beurre et du brie commandés, des cheveux en bonus.....Allez faire une tour au toilettes, jettez un coup d'œil dans la cuisine......Le bar peut-être convivial, mais ça ne fait pas tout.
