Chateau De Longpre - Varilhes

We were very happy with this chateau from the moment we arrived until our departure 5 days later. We were warmly greeted on arrival and throughout our stay, the staff were all friendly and quick to offer suggestions on dining options, day trips etc. When we needed a break from sightseeing, it was nice to simply sit outside and look out over the countryside. We hope to return sometime.

The ambiance is great, the food is good, but it did left my husband and son still hungry afterwards.

We booked our three night stay directly with the hotel, and while this can be risky site unseen, it exceeded our expectations. Our first impression was being met at the door by their charming receptionist who helped us unpack the car and carry our luggage inside. The reception is located beside the grand staircase, the entry fully restored to its former glory as the home of an 18th century bishop. We checked in, and used the lift to get to our first floor room. Another surprise, the tasteful modern furnishings blended with the period, very functional and a thoroughly modern bathroom. Separate toilet. This room matched exactly with the website photos! Breakfast was available in the bedroom, but we chose the terrace with its stunning views of the Pyrenees on the first morning, and in the conservatory, same views, on cooler mornings. We ate dinner on our last evening, a 3 course degustation with exquisite dishes preceded by appetisers, separated by sorbets and completed with petit fours and coffee. The meal a 5/5 itself, and a great wine list to compliment. Staff were excellent, and oh so helpful. Booked our restaurants, helped us with tourist advice, got umbrellas for us when it rained, no request too great. This gorgeous property, with extensive manicured gardens and fountains, views in all directions and an easy location just a short drive to Vahiles and Pamier, is one to which we will return. A great location for a few friends to gather, or for a large family event.

We were received very nicely in this beautiful renovated castle with a lot of taste and class. the staff is very attentive and takes the time to accompany us in our choices. the sensory menu was a nice surprise from beginning to end with a magnificent fireworks in the mouth for dessert. Bravo to the chief.

It is by chance and by consulting the collectors' website that we found this beautiful address because it is not yet in their guide. So we're the collector's client who made the scene in this castle. very pleasant, warm, attentive and professional. the charming rooms are very comfortable, spacious, pleasant, well decorated, with a good bedding, well-stocked tray with coffee, tea, cakes, drink. the restaurant room of the glass window makes you want to settle. refined and creative menus meet the expectations of gourmet ends. . in the deserts and to see more, a delightful for taste buds. all the products come from local producers and are cooked with love by the chef guillaume keller and his brigade, let's not forget the pastry chef. the wine was advised by the sommelier in a very professional way and chose the red wines of the property which corresponded perfectly to the selected dishes. great attention to the customer by all the staff, impeccable service of the great professionalism. at the end of the exciting exchanges with the chef and the sommelier. the exteriors are also beautiful. The wifi works properly. free parking on the site. what happiness we had to make this gastronomic step in this remarkable establishment. we advise this address and we will return
