Restaurant M Patate - Varennes

Poutine sauce is disgusting , fries are ok and service was slow . nice outdoor place to eat for a quick meal.

I have nothing against fries from McDo or any other fast food restaurants... over the years, they became healthier (less oil and calories). Anyway, everybody knows that fries are not so good for your health, specially if you ate them too often. BUT WHEN YOU WANT WONDERFUL HOME FRIES, you want the best which are greasy and taste sooooo good!!! Mr Patate is quite an institution in Varennes, since 1956!! Nothing but the BEST HOME FRIES!!! Nothing fancy but a great stop for a quick lunch on a scenic road (Marie-Victorin from Varennes to Vercheres or vice-versa)

The small poutine along with 2 hotdogs was plenty to share between the 2 of us. And delicious. But we are considering also stopping just up the road to top off this treat with a little ice cream cone. ????
