One part of the kitchen has a window where you can see the dumplings being freshly made. Note: the wonton come with 10 pieces, we already tried 2 before I decided to take a picture. We are definitely coming back for more!
Wang's is the epitome of the type of down-to-earth Shanghainese food that I recall from childhood... Large, soupy steamed pork buns, thick and toothsome pan-fried noodles screaming with wok hei, slippery wontons bathed in chili oil and beef rolls that somehow manage to be both slightly crisp and chewy at the same time. The place is small and utilitarian. The food came out almost as soon as we ordered it and it was piping hot.
Great small place to have authentic tasting flavours. The Dan Dan noodles were my favourite. We went on a weekday at 2pm and it was still busy.
Fast service, efficient, everything you would expect at a Chinese food hole in the wall place. Food is good and prices are fairly low compared to other similar places. Must have the XLBs. We also had the pan fried buns which were good, the fried porkchop rice was good.
The best Shanghai fried dumplings and Shaolongbao I’ve had. The soup was very flavourful and also came out smoking hot. There’s a big line every time so you’ll have to wait for a bit.
