Sabra Restaurant and Bakery - Vancouver

What a little gem of a place. It's not 'fine dining', but the food might as well be. Flavorful, varied, huge portions, and absolutely friendly and warm service. Will return if and when we're back in Vancouver...

I was driving North on Oak Street and decided it would be nice to have lunch. Sabra Restaurant was one of 3 restaurants beside each other. Sun Restaurant (Chinese) Best Neighbor (Italian) and Sabra (Jewish). Feeling adventurous I decided upon Sabra. My lunch consisted of the chicken matzo ball soup followed by an deli sandwich and coffee. A very enjoyable lunch..................indeed.

One of the few kosher restaurants in Vancouver. The restaurant is listed as open until 8.00pm(!) We arrived at 7.40 and were only able to order sandwiches as the kitchen had already closed. Food was disappointing.

After a long flight and a great tour in Vancouver we found ourselves in Sabra restaurant. Both service and food were excellent. Definitely will come again when in town.

Never thought I'd be eating shwarma and felafel for breakfast, but after the wonderful dinner we couldn't wait to return...tiny place with lots of wonderful salads to go with the homemade pita. Fine baked goods as well. Wish they had been open earlier Sunday so we could have had another meal to take on the airplane!
