Per se Social Corner - Vancouver

I have walked by this place many times and it's never busy. I stopped in one night and realized why. The servers are pushy and when you say you're vegan theyrecommend a shrimp dish. The guy filling your water has to pick up the glass to fill it . The wine and food are so so at best. So many other great options in town so there's no point in going here

Industry night on Tuesdays and wine is 50% off as advertised. Ordered prosecco. Charged us full price for prosecco because it is "sprakling" and not considered a wine!?! Seriously? Spanish/Italian establishment and they don't consider prosecco a wine? Too bad. Ignorance is inexcusable in this day of age. Told them to Google it. To top it off the prosecco was served slightly warm. Tons of other places to eat and drink in Vancouver. Was pretty dead, considering the Homer St. Cafe across the street was buzzing. So was the Flying Pig. Guess people figured this place out before we did. Won't be back.

From the moment we saw the mousetrap at the door we should have left, but one person of our party was already seated. The food was mediocre, dry salmon on a salad, the ridiculous trend of a deconstructed Caesar salad, blasé wine list - and the bottles "on tap" aren't on tap - apparently the machine wasn't working. The service was beyond terrible. The server was very rude and when I mentioned that to him after having empty glasses for 30 minutes and asking for the bill - he claimed to not want to interrupt our conversation - seriously?! That's a servers job - interrupt and ask if we want more drinks dessert etc... I remember when they first opened and it was a trendy cool spot. It is now low quality, poor service and potentially has a mouse problem by the trap at the door.

The Capricciosa pizza with their caramelized onions is to die for. Absolutely the very best pizza ever. The service is also superb. Alessandro is terrific. Wine Wednesday's is wicked.

We come at least once a week for wine and pizza, and sit in the bar or on the patio (good car and people watching). We always ask for the same server - Alessandro (sp?) - who is awesome and always steers us in the right direction for wine recommendations. Their pizzas are the real thing - add Caramelized onions!!
