I've had issues with waffles being too hard in the past, but this one was perfect - crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken was well seasoned, the hollandaise on the Eggs Benny was excellent, and the sweet and savory flavors of the waffles were just right. The chicken is dark meat, which may not be for everyone, but I personally enjoyed it. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant for breakfast and trying the Chicken and Waffles Benny.
The Fried Chicken Waffle Benny ($14.50) consisted of a generous piece of fried chicken on a small waffle, topped with two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, served with a side of panfries. The chicken had a crispy coating and was tender and juicy. The waffle was fluffy and slightly chewy with a sweet fragrance. The eggs were perfectly cooked with firm yolks, and the hollandaise sauce was thick, creamy, and tangy. The panfries were crispy and well-seasoned, possibly one of the best versions I've tried. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this dish at Nelly's Grill.
Traditional greasy spoon style diner with really good breakfast options. The hollandaise on the eggs Benedict was super buttery and delicious. I also liked the spicy tomato sauce on the breakfast burrito. The food came out really quickly, and the service was very friendly. Recommended for a no fuss breakfast or brunch.
We had a great breakfast at this restaurant. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. We definitely plan on returning in the future.
I started biking to work again in the summer and remembered how much I enjoy it. It’s a decent workout while getting some fresh air and sun once in a while. Of course at the first sign of rain I turned into a sissy and started using the trusty old bus again, because ain’t nobody like getting wet. Little Bunny took a page from my book and started biking in as well but decided she wanted to try biking in the rain to see how bad it really was. She needed a proper jacket though, so she researched a few places and wanted to check out a store along 4th and asked if I wanted to tag along. I figured we could squeeze in a breakfast while we were at it since I rarely do that and suggested one of my old favourites, Nelly’s Grill, formerly known as Joe’s Grill. It’s never a hard sell when I suggest going out to eat, so off we went.
