Kozak Ukrainian - Vancouver

It is a great place to taste Ukrainian cuisine in vancouver

Eating was phenomenal, especially varenyky. the tonpot with wild boar was also wonderful.

After reading several very positive reviews we were excited to try Kozak. Sadly, it did not live up to expectations. Three of the dishes we wanted were not available. The appetizer and pirogies were tasty enough but our two mains (lamb and duck) were very disappointing.

The food was good, with decent portions, however the service was noticeably poor. The server accidentally poured beer in my partner's water glass, he also was very slow in pretty much all of our encounters with us, slow to get our orders, slow bringing out the food, slow in getting refills of our water. My partner requested another beer, and we waited for so long that we gave up, paid our bills and left. The food was quite good, so it was disappointing that the service was not up to par.

Food was great. Unfortunately half of the items on the menu were sold out at 5:00 pm and we had to go with alternative.
