First time I tried Juke was via delivery and it wasn?t great so I thought maybe I?ll have a different experience in store but the chicken was so disappointing. Their spicychicken is not spiced with a powder (dry) but is instead coated with a spicy sauce (wet). The skin was SO hard it was impossibleto cut through with the little bamboo fork/knife when dining in. Unfortunately I just really don?t like saucy fried chicken andtheir spicy sauce didn?t taste very good. If I knew it was a wet sauce, I wouldn?t have ordered spicy. Just so disappointing.Cold slaw was also sadly slightly below average as well. Considering I paid almost $20 after tax and everything (2 piece chicken side drink), I just cannot recommend their food. Staff and decor was nice though.
Juke and specifically the chickadee room are absolute gems! Staff was extremely welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel cozy and relaxed. The Chicken sandwich, Chicken and waffles, and loaded fries are all killer dishes. Great cocktailselection as well. This place exceeded our expectations and we?ll definitely be back next time we?re in town!
The crispy chicken skin is the best. I?ve not had it anywhere else this good. The seasoning is perfect, not too salty or spicy. It?s the right amount of flavour. The chicken is good too. The fries were not too salty and not as greasy as other places. Thepatio is also a great hangout spot.
After a really fun day at the circus with my girlfriends we decided to explore Vancouver before heading back home (we don?t live in Vancouver). We all know ?exploring? any city without trying a new restaurant is really not exploring so of course we startedlooking for one and we were spoilt for choice as we were in the China town area and there were lots to choose from. We decidedto go into JFC because one of my girlfriends remembers she had something really good from there before so in we went! The pickup area looked very unassuming to me but we?re told very courteously to go next door where we could eat in as that was ourpreference?then the adventure began! We were welcomed very warmly at the door and got seated pretty quickly. Our orders camerather quickly too (we were a party of 5 and we all ordered 2 types of meals so maybe that helped). One of us wasn?t sure aboutthe drink to order but the absolutely lovely Sabrine of Juke Fried Chicken asked what she liked and came up with a drink sheliked! Sabrine was lovely, funny and warm all while being very efficient. The food?the food was goooood! We all liked what weordered and the portions are good too. The dressed fries was so flavourful and the fries somehow remained crisp even after I gothome with my leftovers. Ribs comes clean off the bone but not ridiculously soft and soggy. And the chicken was great! Theambience was cozy, the patrons seemed nice and even though I didn?t go in the washroom myself I hear it was clean and nice. JukeFried Chicken made an already memorable day extra special! Definitely an experience I look forward to having again.
I haven't had fried chicken in 3 months and this hit the spot! Their chicken and sides are all gluten free (and guilt free if you ask me). The corn bread was delicious we recommend dipping it in the spicy honey. The waffles were surprisingly fluffy. Ifyou get one side, we highly recommend corn chicken fritters! These were so amazing!
