The service is great, though the servers are a bit slow. Overalll, it should be your top sushi restaurant in Vancouver's most quiet neighborhood!
This restaurant is located at 315 East Broadway in Vancouver. The food is fresh and the price is reasonable. We ordered scallop battera, crispy California roll, gold dragon roll, fire dragon roll, hamachi sashimi, hotate (scallops), ama ebi (sweet prawns), nabeyaki udon and yaki-udon Fire Dragon Roll was good, hamachi sashimi was fresh and have seven pieces in one order, the fish just melt in your mouth. Hotate was fresh too and ama ebi was delicious. There are two restaurants in the same name, one on east broadway and one in West 10th. I haven't try the one in West 10th, but the one in East Broadway I recommend. The price is reasonable and is a hidden gem in the neighbourhood.
Don't leave unnoticed that little place on the 10th; run by a Korean team. I could have eaten there every day; in fact in 2 week stay in VC we were there every other day for sure! Great food, attentive smiling service (don't have to beg for your tea..!) I appreciated the environment and music - jazzy background, definitely my choice over _every_ place I ate on that trip.. The interior is simple ( the sitting benches are perhaps not for a 2h long meal, but well in style)
Had a great lunch yesterday at Hime. Two of us. We had one sushi plate, one donburi, and one udon. All were excellent and filling. Small place. Good service. Very authentic. Highly recommended.
I have been a few times to this popular neighbourhood sushi restaurant and it's just ok. We were there with a group of friends, some had a chicken Teri don and one had the chicken Teri meal. The chicken was very dry and had little taste. A few of us had the poke appetizer and it was tasty and good value. The robata beef short ribs at $15 were not only pricey but not the flavour we were used to. The staff are friendly and the place does get busy with eat in and take out. The choices in small sushi restaurants is large so I will shop around.
