Great prices for all you can eat! Dinner for two with taxes is around $30.
The best Mongolian Bar BQ in townMeat and vegetables are always fresh.
Pretty good concept for a DIY-choose-it-yourself-then-have-them-cook-it-for-you deal. You're charged per bowl of food, so stuff it as high and dense as you so wish. All the sauces are on the side. There is also soup, rice, kimchi, pineapples, and some sort of dessert given with the meal. Beer prices are pretty stellar at $3.95 compared to most other restaurants going from $4.50-$7.00 a bottle. Would recommend and revisit.
After visiting their Downtown counterpart a couple of times, and being thrilled by the create your own food experience, I decided to introduce my friends to Mongolian BBQ as well. We chose the Kits restaurant due to its proximity to UBC (we are all students there).<br/ The concept is simple: You take a bowl, fill it up with a combination of vegetables, noodles and meat, spice it with some flavored oils and sauces, and have it fried on a large wok. You choose what to eat, how much, and in what ratio. They have a chart of a few sauce combinations to help you along, but really, you just have to taste your way through it.<br/ They also serve accompaniments of rice, bread, soup and a small cream filled 'puff ' for dessert. <br/ <br/ And the best part is, for $16 17, you can eat as much as you want! It 's a tad pricier than the branch in Downtown, but it 's also in a bigger and better location, and the interiors don 't look as much hole in the wall y. They also seemed better prepared to handle large groups.<br/ <br/ The place looks roomy but can get enormously crowded, and you may find yourself waiting in the line for ever! Weekend evenings would not be the best time to go if you dislike waiting while hungry.<br/ <br/ Pro tip #1: Add the noodles last. They take up a lot of space in the bowl, and fills you up really fast.<br/ <br/ Pro tip #2: Pile up your bowl. Once the veggies and meats are cooked, they shrink in size, so you 're really not going to eat as much as it looks like when it 's raw.<br/ <br/ Pro tip #3: It gets very crowded, and the single guy at the grill is often unable to keep up with the orders. A simple thing you can do, is to line up 2 bowls. That way, by the time you have eaten the first one, the second one is ready as well!<br/ <br/ Pro tip #4: Lunch AYCE is a little cheaper. But if you had planned to go for the AYCE, and you couldn 't eat more than one bowl, you can just indicate that when you pay your bill at the end of the meal you will be charged for just the one bowl!
