What I found inside was beyond my wildest dreams: fresh borek (that infamous Turkish pastry), a variety of prosciutto, Greek labneh, homemade Iranian long bread, samosas, and just about everything on my grocery list. The friendly owner helped me pick out the finest meats and cheeses, pestos, honeys, and other essentials. And as I was paying he generously reminded me: don't you want hummus with that bread?I did. I truly did.
That's a big claim! I have been shopping here for 35 years and it's always a pleasure to go in. It's a family owned business that's really sensitive to the cultural shifts that occur in the west end. Their choices are multi cultural and recently they have started to offer exotic, farmed game meats like Bison, Venison, Boar etc. They have a great sliced meat and cheese selection too, lots of olives and other things. If you live here you probably shop here but if you visiting it's also worth a trip to get a great sandwich or a soft drink. The staff are really friendly and super helpful!!!
A small deli style food store w/ a few outdoor seats. Best hummus in town... with the Persian flatbread!
Very interesting international selection as well as delicious cold cuts which they slice up fresh for you. Sandwich meats were excellent and there was a full case of various prepared foods.
Outstanding variety of goodies, like sugar-free pomegranate juice from Azerbaijan glorious! Excellent central and eastern european goodies. Worth a visit because the prices are so reasonable and the staff work hard to please you.
