Here on a Wednesday afternoon, visiting from Los Angeles.

So fun at night! The DJ was playing great songs. Early- mid twenties crowd. Lots of people, reasonably priced drinks. Great first night in Vancouver for us!

It looked quite nice with low lights and plenty of space between tables. The lady at the nearby hotel promised us a special deal and it was raining so why go out and get wet. The first negative was a singer who was not quite on key although a couple of her songs were OK. But the service was so slow we suffered through three sets before it was over. The server was not familiar with the deal we were offered but we proceeded. After a moderate wait drinks came, O.K. Then appetizers not too bad (see photo). Main course after a long wait average at best. By now we were ready to go but some had ordered desert which took a long time. But then the bill came. The special deal had evaporated into what seemed to be a rip off to some of us. Perhaps the hotel above oversold it, perhaps the waitress was unfamiliar with it, but bottom line any pleasure from the event was lost in dmarguing over the bill. The server made corrections, still excessive, the manager was called in and she made some more. We paid by sub group and some left while others stayed to dispute the bill. The server claimed one person had left without paying. He was found and returned and determined he had given the required amount to another person to pay who had no ed left and gone to bed. Everyone was upset and angry. It will be sorted, but I guarantee we will never eat or drink in the Belmont Bar again.

Found this venue while walking up Granville Street. The musician was absolutely amazing (Wednesday night). We had good service and stayed long enough to hear the DJ who was also very talented. Good ambience.
