The Alamo Nv - Vancouver

This is my second stay. I've been around the USA and Mexico for a year. I came back because: the warm welcome Vern gives its customers the clean and safe space for a fair rate and that my two small dogs are welcome. This is the only motel I've ever learned the name of the owner, or I've looked after. Big little motel!!!???

This is a locally owned, older, budget motel that met my needs perfectly for an overnight stay as I went home. The price is good, I was comfortable, I was toasty warm at a cold night, I was on my own and felt safe, my pup was my traveling buddy and he was also welcome for just $5 extra, and last but not least, all the staff were so friendly. Vern. I think the owner is the most beautiful person, warm and real. He went out to help some travelers who had a wreck nearby while I was there. There are very few places to stay along a long route, and I would stay here every time. There are also less than a quarter mile away I think it's a Sinclair gas station and store with some hot dishes and big cinnamon rolls. Very convenient for both refilling the tank (and I would definitely get up from the tank here if to the north) and get a bite to eat. There are large green dinosaurs in front, so you can't miss it. Thank you to Vern and the other two employees who helped me. They all made me feel comfortable and safe.

To make matters worse, the restaurant was closed, and it wasn't clear whether this was for the season or permanently. If you arrive late and don't have your own food, you might find yourself in a tough spot, as this motel and the surrounding area are quite remote.

I would return just for the morning coffee—it was the best I've ever had. The staff were friendly and very helpful. While the rooms are a bit dated, they come equipped with a new fridge, microwave, and TV. I slept soundly and woke up to a stunning view of the valley. I loved spending time by the fire pit while savoring that excellent coffee.

This is a vintage 1960's hotel that is comfortable, clean, with great customer service. It met our basic needs for a 2-day stay, simple accomindations. Didn't worry or expect any COVID-19 protocol, because I am so done with that nonsense. I highly recommends this hotel... :
