Guu Kobachi - Vancouver

One of our favorite small places for drinks and izakaya fare/atmosphere!

They offer a large variety of small plates (4 for $17) that are a great value. It’s largely in the salty-savoury bar snacks category but quite tasty. The staff are SUPER friendly too.

Fun, vibrant, electric atmosphere. Excellent Japanese food with a twist. Enjoyed the seaweed salad with tofu. Catch of the day blowtorched sashimi was very good. Black sesame ice cream topped off the meal. Not your typical Japanese restaurant, much more fun!

We love Guu! We visit every two weeks or so. Food is delicious, and the staff is lovely. Always enjoy our experience.

The food was excellent, but the service was exemplary! The sake flights were perfect and the staff took the time to understand each person at the table to make the right recommendations based on each guest’s individual tastes. They were also really great about the fact that we stayed way longer than normal after we finished out meal (sorry about that to both the other guests and the staff, BTW! Overall we had an amazing time and we are definitely going back soon!
