After a few years away from Niceville, we decided to have dinner there yesterday. The restaurant's unique atmosphere and stunning views lived up to our expectations, as did the excellent service. However, we were disappointed by the food compared to our past visits to Boathouse Landing. The Captain's Seafood Platter tasted like it was cooked in old oil, and the portion size and quality of the Boathouse Grouper did not meet the high standards we had come to expect. We were also surprised to see that a minimum 20% gratuity is required for every customer. We believe that a good tip should be given for good service and food, but it should be earned.
We were surprised by a $15 service charge on our $111 meal. I will not be returning to this restaurant. This charge came after we had already left a 20% tip. Overall, the meal type was dinner with a price per person between $20-30. The food was rated a 4, service a 5, and the atmosphere a 5.
My dining experience at this restaurant was truly amazing. I was warmly welcomed as soon as I entered and was even able to sit outside despite the 60° weather. Courtney was my server and she was fantastic - always smiling, friendly, and happy to answer my questions. The alligator bites, which were a first for me, were delicious. The broiled seafood platter was cooked perfectly and the warm pecan pie for dessert was the perfect finish. If you find yourself in the area, make sure to add this restaurant to your list. And don't forget to say hello to Mama for me!
The restaurant offers delicious food with a beautiful view. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure to check on you often. This place is a favorite among locals!
The food service at this restaurant was awful. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful, leaving me sitting there for hours. Although the view was nice, it didn't make up for the terrible experience, so I eventually decided to leave. I was upset, but I ultimately didn't let it bother me.
